Perfectionism in children and young people is common and can have substantial negative effects on the child or young person. 

This training will help professionals working with children, young people, and their families recognise when perfectionism may be a problem for a young client as well as set out simple, practical strategies for supporting children and young people who may be troubled by perfectionism.

The training will cover:

  • The impact of perfectionism on children and young people

  • What parents can do to help make it less likely that their children may become perfectionistic

  • Perfectionism and its association with common mental health difficulties

  • How parents and carers can help their child

  • Supporting the perfectionistic child/young person in school

The training will be highly interactive and the participants will be encouraged to ask questions at any time.

When: Thursday, 27th June 2024 from 9:30am to 12.30pm. (AEST)

Where: Online eWorkshop via Zoom. If payment has been received, you will receive the Zoom details in the week prior to the eWorkshop .

Cost: The early bird booking is $195.00 (GST incl) if registered before 13th June 2024, after the 13th June 2024 the Full Price is $250.00 (GST incl). Payment is required before attending the eWorkshop.

Facilitator: David Cherry

The training will be run by David Cherry who is a Clinical and Forensic Psychologist who has been working for over 40 years.  David had a private practice as a psychologist for over 25 years during which time he worked extensively with children, young people, and their families as well as working with schools to help support children with behavioural, physical, emotional and/or learning difficulties.
